How to Book
We're based in Burbank, about 17 miles from Arcadia, and we schedule spring jobs out here as a dedicated trip rather than a drive-by add-on, so we ask for the door's age, whether it's a single or double, and if you know it, whether you're on torsion or extension springs. A photo of the spring assembly above the door helps us bring the right parts the first time instead of guessing on-site. We don't keep a branch in Arcadia, so the appointment gets built around the Burbank truck's route for that day. If the spring has already let go and the door won't move, say so when you call - that changes what we bring and how we plan the stop, since a fully broken torsion spring means the door is unsafe to operate at all until it's replaced. For general information on what we cover across the wider Burbank service area, that's on a separate page; this one is specifically about getting a spring fixed at your Arcadia address.
Parts We Carry
We stock standard torsion spring sizes that cover the bulk of doors built from the 1960s through today, along with the extension spring setups still found on older one-piece doors that never got converted. Cable, drum, and center bearing plate parts ride along too, since a spring failure on a torsion system often takes a cable or bearing with it. What we don't carry on the truck is every obscure or discontinued spring wind and wire gauge from odd manufacturers - some older or imported doors used nonstandard hardware, and if that's what's on your door, we may need to order the exact match rather than swap something close and call it fixed. We'd rather tell you that up front than sell you a spring that's wrong for the door.
What the Repair Takes
Swapping a torsion spring for one properly matched to the door's actual weight is a same-visit job once we've confirmed the size on-site, including removing the old spring under controlled tension, winding the new one to the correct number of turns, and checking that the door balances - holds still at roughly half open without the opener fighting it. Extension spring jobs on older doors usually go faster since there's no winding bar work involved, but we still check the safety cables while we're in there. If the door itself is warped, delaminating, or the track is bent from the failure, that's a separate conversation about whether repair is still worth it versus replacing the door outright - we won't put a new spring on a door that's not going to hold up under it. We don't stage a Sunday or after-hours crew in Arcadia specifically, so if timing matters, say so when you book.
